What is Libraquat PQ7?
Libraquat PQ7 is a Polycationic copolymer of Acrylamide and Diallyldimethylammonium Chloride. Polyquaterium is the International Nomenclature for Cosmetic Ingredients designation for several polycationic polymers that are used in the personal care industry.
The copolymer is the result of the polymerisation reaction between Diallydimethylammonium Chloride (DADMAC) and Acrylamide (AAM) in water to produce Polyquaternium-7 (PQ7). The use of these monomers gives a stable copolymer with a wide range of abilities. In our QC laboratory, the copolymer is carefully analysed by High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) to confirm the residual Acrylamide is below 1 part per million (ppm) and ensure the highest quality product for customer. Preserved with 0.5% Sodium Benzoate and pH balanced to ensure the optimum anti-microbial protection, you can be confident Libraquat PQ7 will remain protected for everyday of its 24-month shelf life*.

Libraquat PQ7 is especially useful in surfactant-based systems such as shampoo, shower gel and hand wash. It acts as an exceptional hair detangler and provides slip for easier wet combing which makes it perfect for use in spray on, leave in hair conditioners. In addition, it adds softness and shine to dry hair. Not only this, but it is also an excellent emollient for skin cleansers. When combined in a liquid hand soap formula, it provides a smooth, silky feel to the hands.
